Walt Disney’s first studio – Laugh-O-Gram Films

Walt’s first animation studio began on May 23, 1922 on the second floor of the McConahy Building in Kansas City, MO at 1127 E. 31st Street. He and four other employees, as “Laugh-O-gram Films”, contracted with ‘Pictorial Clubs‘ to create a series of cartoons. Sadly, just over a year later in July 1923 Laugh-O-gram Films filed for bankruptcy. That’s when Walt left for Los Angeles and created what would become the Disney Company that we know today.
