The first house Roy Disney ever bought was at 2495 Lyric Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90027. It was a ‘Pacific Ready Cut Home’ by the Pacific Portable Construction Company. He and Walt both bought these ‘kit homes’ so they could just be built on-site when the lumber was delivered (many houses of that era were sold that way.)
Roy and Walt bought the lot together so they could build adjoining houses. Roy recalled that the lot was about 50 feet by 150 feet, and cost of the property and both houses was $16,000, and the construction was finished in December 1926.
